Classic Wines Spotlight: WineBadge.com

Just in time for the holidays - the perfect company to help in your wine gift pursuits.
We're rolling into the biggest holiday season of the year - it's time to buckle up and get prepared! Thanksgiving...Christmas...New Years... wine is going to be in hot demand in the coming months. Two common problems wine lovers encounter is a lack of gift ideas for the wine drinkers in
their life, and the sudden realization that they need to find the perfect bottle for each event.
ClassicWines.com had the pleasure of interviewing one company that solves both of these issues through a unique product - The Wine Badge. Read on to find out why these guys should be on your radar.
CW: Jay and Corinne Goldberg, I'd like to thank you for taking a few minutes to chat with us. Could you tell us a little bit about your company?
WB: Yes, we are actually a new company that has invented and produced its first U.S. Patent Pending product, The Wine Badge.
CW: What is The Wine Badge? Could you talk a little bit about the mission statement of your company?
WB: The Wine Badge was developed to help everyday wine enthusiasts identify all their racked and stacked wine bottles. Our product solves the problem of wine tags falling off bottles, getting sucked off bottles when opening wine cooler or cellar doors. Tags have no value today because of their many flaws. Our product removes the flaws and provides a truly useable product for everyone which not only enhances their ability to identify all their wine, but gives their wine collection (small or large) an elegant and extremely organized look. We wish to make The Wine Badge a common name to anyone who identifies the wine they store regardless of the fashion by which they store it. Everyone will Badge their wine... just like Googling the net... you'll badge your battles and everyone will know what that means.
CW: That's a great concept. I bet some other companies are going to kick themselves that they didn't think of it first. But speaking of other companies, what do you think sets you apart from potential competition?
WB: Our product is the ONLY product on the market that allows you to identify your wine from both the top and the punt of the wine bottle. Our product will also work with wines that are stored behind one another (tags cannot do this). The Wine Badge works while the bottle is tilted down at an angle if needed. Our design improves upon the basic concept of putting a tag over the neck of your bottle and does everything a tag cannot do. We can even withstand earthquakes without our product coming off the bottle!
CW: That's some serious product testing. Haha. Is there a specific market or demographic that you are reaching out to?
WB: Our market is very broad. Because our box is extremely attractive, we are marketing to wineries, wine shops, gift shops, upscale supermarkets, larger market chains, online shoppers (and gift buyers), and restaurants that have larger amounts of racked wine and do not have a computerized or well organized system of wine bottle identification.
CW: Why do you think people will keep coming back for more after they've experienced the wine badge?
WB: Our costumer service is exceptional and our website is very informational. We are wholesaling our product and looking for online stores and brick and mortar stores to retail our product. We are not a retailer ourselves. People will need to come back to retailers to buy additional wine badge holders and Wine Badge bottom adapters as their collection grows.
CW: Anything else particularly cool or interesting for our readers to know?
WB: We are currently in development on an exciting addition feature - we are hoping to soon release The Wine Badge insert refill packs. Through our website you will be able to pull up an insert template which will allow anyone with either a PC or MAC computer to fill out wine insert information online, choose colors, fonts, styles of text and then print custom inserts. No software application will be needed. The Wine Badge will again be a first of its kind to allow custom printable inserts which are not paper stickers, but actual Wine Badge inserts.
