2006 Jean-Luc Colombo La Redonne Cotes Du Rhone Blanc

Very interesting white. Smells oddly compelling. Tangy and acidic, with notes of petrol, lemongrass, and a briny, salty, dry peach and nectarine character. Quite a long, nuanced finish. This is about as far from an easy drinking California chardonnay as can be, and it nicely shows another side of white wine. Outstanding value. Retail $16.
